I will present first results obtained from a combined dataset of 700
red giant stars in two fields of the Galactic disc which have been co-observed by the
CoRoT satellite and the APOGEE spectrograph. We have measured chemical
abundance patterns and ages of field stars over a large radial range of the Milky
Way's disc, and present recent results on the dependence of abundance distributions
on age and position in the disc. A particularly intriguing result is that the tight
correlation between age and chemical abundances previously seen in the Solar
vicinity does not seem to be valid for the inner Galactic disc: [alpha/Fe]-rich stars are
not necessarily old.
