DISLIN is a high-level and easy to use plotting library for displaying data as curves, bar graphs, pie charts, 3D-colour plots, surfaces, contours, and maps. The library contains about 500 plotting and parameter setting routines. The approach used is to have only a few graphics routines with short parameter lists. A large variety of parameter setting routines can then be used to create customized graphics. Several output formats are supported such as X11, VGA, PostScript, PDF, SVG, CGM, HPGL, TIFF, GIF, PNG and BMP. DISLIN is available for the programming languages C, Fortran 77, Fortran 90, Perl, Python and Java.
Software and manuals are available from the DISLIN Home Page
and from the FTP servers
The current version of DISLIN is 10.4 (January 2014).
There are native libraries of DISLIN for the programming languages C, Fortran 77 and Fortran 90. The Fortran 77 and Fortran 90 libraries contain some additional C functions such as the interfaces to X11 and Windows API.
DISLIN distributions are available for the operating systems MS-DOS, Windows, MacOS, Linux, FreeBSD, Tru64 UNIX, Solaris, HP-UX and VMS. The supported Windows compilers are: Visual C++, Borland C++, GCC, LCC, G77, G95, GNU Fortran, Absoft Pro, Lahey ELF90/LF90/LF95, Intel ICC/IFORT, Digital Visual Fortran, Portland Group Fortran and Salford FTN77/FTN90/FTN95. The supported compilers for Linux are: gcc, g77, g95, GNU Fortran, Absoft Pro, Intel icc/ifort and Portland Group pgf77/pgf90/pgf95.
The source code is available on a DVD that is distributed with a DISLIN license.
DISLIN is free for non-commercial use. Licenses for selling programs linked with DISLIN or for using DISLIN in an environment related to business are available from the site http://www.dislin.de.
The current prices of commercial DISLIN licenses are US$180 for a PC, US$540 for a workstation, US$1200 for a Campus and US$3600 for a World license.
