Mapping the IMPRS Curriculum to Physics Modules

Summary of IMPRS requirements, aligned with the modules P.Phy.01-07 in Appendix 7 (Physics) of the RerNat-O (2018). Please keep track of the fulfilment of  requirements in the Course Assessment Form.

Curricular requirements

The programme includes a curricular structure with oral and written progress reports as well as seven modules. Please read about the general requirements of the Curriculum first. The following mapping of IMPRS requirements to physics modules applies:


P.Phy.01: Thesis Advisory Committee Meeting

Thesis committee meeting once per year

  • Written student report to Thesis Advisory Committee in preparation for TAC meeting
  • Regular attendance of S3 seminar including presentation of one S3 talk per year
  • Thesis Advisory Committee meeting following the S3 talk
  • Written TAC meeting report

P.Phy.02 Scientific presentation and communication

Scientific presentation and communication

  • Typically one conference attendance per year with presentations in the form of posters or talks.

P.Phy.03 Scientific Writing

Scientific writing

  • Minimum of two peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals.

P.Phy.04 Advanced scientific qualification in theory and practice

Advanced scientific qualification in theory and practice

  • Solar System Science Part I or Part II lecture: regular attendance and active participation in the lectures and exercises, and final report
  • plus elective graduate-level lectures if recommended by TAC

P.Phy.05 Additional scientific qualification in theory and practice

Additional scientific qualification in theory and practice

  • Solar System Science Part II or Part I lecture
  • plus elective lectures or courses (optional)

P.Phy.06 Tutorial teaching

Tutorial Teaching

  • Minimum of 8 teaching credits (8SWS) overall

P.Phy.07 Key competences
