June 28, 2022

An unforgettable, nocturnal excursion to distant stars, planets and our Sun is at the heart of the upcoming 5th Göttinger Nacht des Wissens at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research. In addition to lectures on current topics of space research and exploration, exhibition stands, and hands-on experiments for visitors, the institute offers a fun-filled children's program on the parking lot behind the institute building. After the children's program, visitors may pick up a bag of popcorn and enjoy the exciting films in the open-air cinema. Those who feel hungry and thirsty during the night will find food and drinks outside in front of the main entrance of the institute in the form of grilled sausages, French fries, ice cream and drinks.

An overview of all the activities at the MPS can be found in the printed program booklet of the “Nacht des Wissens” as well as on the internet at https://www.ndw.uni-goettingen.de/ . Simply click on "Das Programm nach Orten" and then on "Max Planck Institut für Sonnensystemforschung". Also listed there are the activities prepared by the Max Planck Institutes for Multidisciplinary Sciences and for Dynamics and Self-Organization, which will also present their research topics at the MPS.

Please note, that several of the activities are also suitable for English speaking visitors. These activities are marked with a British flag in the program booklet and on the internet.
