The MPS in times of corona: Current status

May 14, 2020

The Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research takes the current risk situation due to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 very seriously. It is the Institute's primary objective to minimize the risk of infection for its staff and to contribute in general to minimizing the spread of the virus.

For this reason, most MPS employees currently work from home. However, you can still reach your contact person at the MPS by email. The reception can also be reached around the clock on +49 551 384 979-0.

Among other things, the MPS develops scientific instruments and hardware components for several future space missions, which are linked to fixed schedules. Work on these projects is continuing in the MPS laboratories under strict safety precautions.

All events and guided tours at the institute are cancelled until further notice.

Representatives of external companies are only allowed to enter the institute in urgent, exceptional cases. If you are unsure whether your request is such an exceptional case, please contact your usual contact person at the MPS.

The MPS canteen will remain closed for external guests until further notice. We kindly ask for your understanding.
