Main Focus

Stellar magnetic activity and surface inhomogeneities: studying their effects on stellar spectra, limb darkening, and photometric variability.
Stellar flicker and granulation: studying short-timescale brightness variations from both a 3D simulation and observational perspective to probe surface convection and stellar atmospheric properties, including analyses based on PLATO and JWST observations.
3D stellar atmosphere modelling: combining radiative magnetohydrodynamic simulations, spectral synthesis, high-resolution spectra, and high-precision photometric and spectroscopic observations.
Helio- and asteroseismology: studying how stellar granulation, realistic stellar atmospheres, and radiative transfer influence seismic observables.
Exoplanet characterization: investigating how stellar activity and surface structures affect transit observations, particularly for missions such as PLATO and JWST.
