Office Administrator

To conduct research at the highest level, the MPS requires an efficient and highly qualified administrative staff. Administrative staff work closely with all operational units of the institute: from building and facilities management and the data center to workshops, laboratories, and the scientific departments.

The apprenticeship is primarily carried out within the institute’s administration in the areas of purchasing and accounting. Trainees learn the systematic handling of tasks in these areas. They interact with government agencies, service providers, and suppliers. They perform their duties using a computer and standard software programs such as Word, Excel, and SAP HR, and learn how to draft letters, applications, and reports in a proper and professional manner.

Requirements

Prospective office administrators should have good grades in German and mathematics, as well as basic knowledge of “Word” and “Excel.” Knowledge of English is an advantage. Since day-to-day administrative work often involves handling multiple tasks simultaneously and meeting important deadlines, organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability are among the most important requirements, as are communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure.
