Main Focus
I am a project manager and system engineer, and my main interest is the development and operation of space instruments. Since 2004 I have participated in several missions with different focus, from small bodies to solar research and lately back to planetary science.
As the project manager for the MPS contribution to the EnVision mission I am currently involved in all the fields required for the development of an electronic box that will fly in space: structure, thermal, power, digital electronics and software. Previously, during my participation in missions like Dawn, Rosetta and Solar Orbiter, I was also involved with optics, mechanisms and, very prominently, with commissioning and flight operations.
We are currently working on assembling the Data Handling Unit for the VenSpec Suite, a group of three spectrometers onboard EnVision that shall be launched on its way to Venus in late 2031 to try to determine if there is any ongoing volcanic activity there.
