Other projects

If you are doing a PhD project supported by the Institute for Astrophysics and Geophysics, the Göttingen Geoscience Center, or the Institute of Numerical and Applied Mathematics at the University of Göttingen, or the Institute of Geophysics and Extraterrestrial Physics at the TU Braunschweig or the Institute for Theoretical Physics at TU Braunschweig, and you would like to do your PhD in the context of the IMPRS, then please apply for admission to the IMPRS by submitting an application with specific entries in some of the fields.

Please select the funding line as “already funded” and provide details about the specific funding source, the contract type and the hosting institution. Select the project preference “Other” and clearly indicate the project outline and advisors in your application. Give your main PhD advisor and another academic as your referees. The second refeeree can be another IMPRS faculty member or someone else familiar with your work.

The recruitment and admissions committee will review your application and will invite you to give a talk, and will then formally decide about your admission to IMPRS. If not already in place, a thesis advisory committee (TAC) should be formed that leverages the expertise available across IMPRS member institutions.

Formal admission will be followed up with access to IMPRS infrastructure and resources.
