Next call for applications to be published in summer 2025

The call for general applications 2025/26 will be published in summer 2025.

Thank you very much for your interest in our IMPRS program, for which details are available at http://www.solar-system-school.de.

We do not have a call open beyond 1 October 2024, but will be issuing a call in summer 2025 again (probably with an application deadline of 1 October 2025). You should preferably send your application in response to that call once published so that you can be sure to meet all the formal requirements. Once the call is out, you will be able to find all relevant information on the Solar System School's web pages. For now, you can refer to the last Call 2024 to obtain an idea which documents we would require for a complete application.

Please plan ahead for any admission tests that you may be required to take, such as an English language test or a GRE Subject Test in Physics.

Starting from 2 July 2025, you may already create an account for your on-line application for the upcoming call via https://www.application.mps.mpg.de/.

Completed applications may be submitted through our on-line application portal starting from 2 July 2025.

You can also browse through the list of the previous call's PhD projects at http://www.mps.mpg.de/phd/open-projects.

This list will be updated in time for the next call. Please make sure to check it again closer to the deadline, before submission of your application.
