Max Planck Research Groups
In Max Planck Institutes, Max Planck Research Groups are organised as smaller, fully independent research units, in addition to the institute departments. They stand out as an exceptional opportunity for young scientists, who hold a doctorate, to further their professional development. Under the guidance of the group leader, PhD students and a postdoc can work together on a specific research topic. The group leaders (MPFGL) are appointed by the President of the Max Planck Society.
