Magnetic fields in the Sun and other stars are generated by a dynamo. But even the solar dynamo remains enigmatic. Observations of other stars provide important constraints. The group combines these observations with theory and simulations to gain a better understanding of the solar and stellar dynamos. [more]
Comets and asteroids, remnants of planet formation, have been subject to various processes in the 4.5 billion years since their formation. Studying their activity leads us to better understand how these bodies evolve with time, and what the properties of their surfaces and sub-surface layers are. [more]
Age is a fundamental property of stars and essential to understand the evolution of stars, planetary systems, and the Galaxy. However, age is the most poorly known property of a star. The group uses methods of asteroseismology to determine the ages of thousands of stars with unprecedented precision. [more]
