2nd GREGOR Science Meeting

November 08, 2016
Scientists from the GREGOR partner institutes in Germany and Spain met for the second time at MPS to discuss the latest results obtained with the 1.5m GREGOR ground-based solar telescope.

More than 30 participants discussed the latest results from the GREGOR telescope. The fine structure of light-bridges within sunspot umbrae, the evolution of plasma- and gas flows along magnetic filaments in the chromosphere and the surprising temperature stratification above sunspots represented some scientific highlights of the meeting. In addition, the scientists presented their plans to further improve the performance of the telescope and to upgrade existing instrumentation.
