Outer planet moon-magnetosphere interactions

This workshop is sponsored by the EC-funded EUROPLANET 2020 RI, a Research infrastructure which includes a Networking activity for Science.
Purpose of the meeting and format
The workshop will include a combination of eight keynote talks about moon-magnetosphere
interactions and one about moon space environments at Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune
combined with contributed oral papers covering these subjects through data analysis,
simulations and theory.
This workshop can serve as a starting point of a new series of moon-magnetosphere
workshops in the future to maximize the science output of past missions like CASSINI, GALILEO, VOYAGER, PIONEER and to support current and future missions like HISAKI, JUNO, JUICE, EUROPA CLIPPER, etc.

There might even be chance to watch aurora if the activity and the weather permits.
Transfer from/to airport
Please book your transfer to/from airport/selfoss individually.
Please book way in advance to make sure that you will get
a ride to the hotel in Selfoss.
Transfer from/to the airport seems quite expensive. Therefore there are two more options but not explicitely mentioned by our local contact.

We highly recommend to share a ride. If you send us your arrival time (iceland2019@mps.mpg.de) we will try to coordinate.
During the week we can arrange the return to the airport.
Social event and dinner
We plan to arrange an excursion to the geysir Strokkur, the Gullfoss waterfall and the continental divide near Thingvellir followed by a conference dinner on Wednesday 13 Feb.

Registration fee including lunches (tuesday and thursday) and the excursion/dinner will be covered by Europlanet. Lunch during the excursion is NOT covered.
Accompanied persons have to pay the excursion extra.
Travel Support
Europlanet will offer a minimum travel support of 120€ for each participant. The actual support will be announced at the beginning of the workshop.
