MPS Seminar: On loops and balls (K.R. Sreenivasan)

From aerodynamics to quantum gravity, there is a tradition of studying fields via loops. We consider the behavior of loops in turbulent fields to establish their scaling properties, and contrast them with those of traditional averages over balls. The talk can be followed with no specialised knowledge.
